Sorry I need a little more info to help.

Was this a working computer, BSOD'ing with this error? Or is he trying to format/install XP? A little background info please

System32 missing, huh? Smells like 4chan.

Have you tried system restore?

I've had issues like this during a windows xp setup, ended up being a bad CD. Get yourself a new ISO somewhere, if you have a key its legal, and try formatting with that.

If you're trying to save the current OS, I wouldn't say its worth it unless you need to get some data. If that was the case I'd run an Ubuntu live CD or something to recover the data and format anyways.
