Guide: SLI on Intel Chipsets

You never thought it was possible until now, and its actually incredibly simple. I've used Windows 7 64-bit as the operating system for testing. Procedure for other operating systems as well as other possible methods are found at the end of the guide (source). Now capable with all drivers!

Step 1:
Install your GPU drivers.

Step 2:
Run the SLIpatch for your specific OS found here.

Step 3: Run "InstallSLI.cmd", a success message should appear in the command prompt.

Step 4: Reboot. You will be brought to a boot menu that offers "[Your OS]" or "[Your OS] SLI enabled". Chose the SLI enabled one. If you'd like to always boot into SLI enabled mode, navigate to System >> Properties >> Advanced >> Startup and Recovery >> Settings. Here, chose SLI Enabled from the drop down and make sure that the Time Delay option is unchecked.

Step 5:
Voila! SLI!

Well there you have it. If you successfully perform the mod please PM ME and I will add you to the list of successful attempts!

Successful BlazingPC SLI hacks:
  • Kopi --- GA-X48-DQ6 / 2 x XFX 8800GT / Win7 64bit
  • AUS.R34P3R --- Asus P5E / 2 x 8800GTX (XFX + PNY) / Win7 64bit
  • Alexo35 --- Gigabyte EP45-UD3P / EVGA 9600GT x 2 / Win7 64bit

A list of other successful attempts as well as other methods for other operating systems, click SOURCE.

Do we have a source? Also, does this work ONLY on the 190.62 drivers?

Old Method (Still Works)

Step 1:
Make sure you have these files. You'll need
  • nVidia 190.62 drivers
  • HAL mod 0.9
  • SLI string installer v2.0
  • new folder

Step 2:
Extract contents of both RAR files into the folder you created. Run the slistringinstaller.exe. When prompted, click ASUS no matter what type of motherboard you use, we're using the SLI string from an ASUS board.

You should receive a message saying "SLI String was injected successfully!"

Step 3:

Run the Install.cmd from the folder. You should quickly see a command window.

Step 4:

Restart your PC.

Step 5:
After restarting, install the nVidia 190.62 drivers, and restart again. You should see this message which will tell you that you're now capable of SLI. Right click your desktop, and select the Nvidia Control Panel for SLI settings.

Ok, looks like this method doesn't fix anything higher than the "191" drivers like the Forceware mod.

If all goes well I should be trying this out on Christmas Day, or a couple of days later if not.

Thanks Kopi.

it may be due to the fact that the drivers point to the wrong location... its a bug in those drivers

let me know if that solves it for ya

Once the older drivers are installed, the option to overclock the gpu's in the Nvidia Control Panel is no longer available. Are there ways around this? This is the only way i know how to overclock my gpu's.

I never really overclock from the control panel, I always use Riva or eVGA precision, both of which work with this hack.
